About Kate Eldridge

I have been designing and making beaded jewellery for over 8 years, and what started out as a hobby gradually progressed into making pieces for friends as gifts and then some of those friends started telling me I should be selling items.  It was suggested that I should get myself a website to make it easier for my overseas friends, and other potential customers to see my designs for themselves.  And so here it is; a portfolio of items I have made recently that will continue to be updated.  I love making jewellery using all kinds of beads, from all corners of the globe and you will see a simplistic elegance in my work, with just a touch of drama on occasion! 

Inspiration

I am often asked where I find my inspiration and I would say that I have been influenced greatly by my travels; the people, places, colours, textures, and events I have witnessed.  I am also inspired by the natural world and the nature around me, and when working with semi-precious stones find myself following the patterns and colours within them.  I particularly love spirals, which for me represent the dizzying, never ending journey of life.  You will find spirals and natural patterns and colour in much of my work.   

What I can do for you

The items you will see in the ‘gallery’ on this website are examples of my recent creations.  Some are for sale, some are already sold but they all have indicative prices.  Given the unique nature of my jewellery I cannot have a catalogue or stock pile items but if you see something you like then let me know and I will make a similar piece for you.  This way you can tell me your preferred colours, size, and fastenings and I will tailor-make a unique item just for you.
